The Crow and Gate Pub is as real and authentic English pub as you'll get outside the UK. the exterior is pure Yorkshire - a quaint house in the middle of a cow field in the country. It's got it all in the true English tradition: the low wooden ceilings, dark beams, portraits, real fireplaces, snugs, wooden settles, dark wainscotting, stonework. they feature delicious hot pies and sandwiches, potato salad, slaw. My favourite is the steak and kidney pie. You order at the bar and pay up front and the food's brought to your table so there's no issue with slow or bad service.
